Searching For El Dorado
Let Nature Surprise You
Searching For El Dorado
For centuries, stories about lost mythical cities in the Amazon have fascinated explorers. Among them, El Dorado—a legendary city of gold—drove European expeditions deep into the jungle. In 1542, during one of these quests, Francisco de Orellana separated from Gonzalo Pizarro and became the first European to navigate the Amazon River.
Almost 500 years later, you discover that the true treasure of the Amazon is not gold, but its astonishing richness of life. This region boasts the greatest biological diversity on the planet, with thousands of species of plants and animals—many still waiting to be found.
At the heart of this natural wonder, the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve protects this extraordinary ecosystem, offering you the chance to explore pristine landscapes and experience a place where history, legend, and biodiversity come together.
